Dear Anna,
Its a most important thing to be known regarding the Sensus of our people at present. But I wonder that we are only small in number. I thought we may be around 3 to 3.5 lakhs.
Any way I vote for 100%.
Please keep providing details.
With Regards,
Gopenath.

Brother Gopenath,

Before looking into statistics and census, I was also feeling our badaga population could be 2.5 lakhs at least. However, though population growth is a natural phenomenon, where the growth were any where between 2 to 12 Children per family about 50 years bak, in the last twenty years, the children in each house where 1 to 3 only in Badaga families and across Tamilnadu as well.

Therefore, as long as no census of 2011 is available and Badaga Gowda Ayya's organise some head count for our own benefit, giving right population figures may not be possible.

More over, in the recent demarcation of Nilgiri district & Possibility of merger of Badagas into Kannadigas we will never know what is actual head count.

To make the matter worst, the Government of India Census authorities, call UDHAGAMANDALAM as single village, without giving any references to hatties.

let us hope some one will knock the doors of census authorities.

Cheers
