Thanks Ramesh,
I support your decision:
"We don’t have to wait anymore… let us start working, we believe people will join us soon. "
Please start with Senthil/Vinod for the Trust registration. Please make it as quick as possible.

Always @ any kind of service

Hi all,
Sorry for not writing in so long... was caught up wit work n found enuf time just to read mails n msgs...
My suport is alwez thr...
I think we are at a point where we have to nail on the project and start planning for the same instead of waiting for more responses.
We shall plan n tell the others this is wat they hav to do in terms of physical help or financial help...
n m sure u wil find more...
Senthil anna, open an a/c meanwhile, so dat funds can flow in once we finalise the project.
If we are looking at an hospital, can anyone find out if we hav a gud place n enuf spacious land for the hospital building.
We can find a land and n bring out a blue print on the total cost and time frame for the same.Somr things we need to look into are the facilities requiredsuch as how many rooms, what equipments, ambulances and other vehicles, the functioning of the hosp itself and fund flow.

Some people we can approach for support in terms of work are architects for the building, doctors for the hospital.
there is no point in having a building and no one ready to seve there...
so we need to do a survey on how many docs escpecially specialists & nurses wud be interested to provide their service.
An also the legal fomalities to get a hosp in ooty....

This can be worked out in the long run.... I wud give a 6months time for the blue print
Meanwhile...Our trust has to be formed and registered.
I hope what I have mentioned makes sense... since I am not much experienced in these matters...
Regards

Dear Badaga friends,

It’s been long since I have been to this site until my wife told me that there are some good topics posted. I’m really thrilled by the enthusiasm that every one has to do some good things for our community. With the help of a few friends and relatives I have been helping our badaga community. I would like to share these with all of you. My wife (Thenuga Sivaraj) and I came up with a plan to help the poor children’s of our community who were either financially backward, father expired, handicapped etc. My cousin M.Chandran from Haliyoor village (Near Kannerimukku, Kotagiri) with few of his friends (Karia, Durai, kumar, and sukumar) from the same village went from village to village in getting the information about the people who really needed help to educate their children. Initially it was difficult to talk to everyone in the village. So we came up with an idea to put all the details in a paper form (Notice) and then distributed it to the people and stores, with the contact number of Chandran on it. We named the organization as MCS kalvi kulu. We received many enquires, finally we selected 50 students. We provided the students from Govt, Govt aided and a few English medium schools with fees for the whole year, clothes, shoes and school stationeries. These things were bought from badaga stores (Beesalu store ooty, oriental book corner ooty and a shoe store owned by a badaga person) to give them our business. We have also helped the Blind students at Poonamalie School, Madras (Non-Badagas) and the Blind students from colleges in paying their fees and buying stationeries.

With the help of DR Rajendran, Gynecologist (Ex Professor from Coimbatore medical college) we held 2 medical campus at Kannerimukku and Kattebettu). All the funds spent were from my personal account. We are in the process of planning other activities to help our community.

From my past and present experience, I have a few suggestions to the Badaga trust that we are forming.

• Even though we may have funds to contribute. It’s difficult to co-ordinate when we are not local (Hatty).
• It’s difficult to find Trustworthy local people to carry out the process.
• Initially, the local people may be curious and interested in carrying out the process, but after a while, people loose interest due to other personal priority.
• If we promise something to do for the local people, we have to fulfill it by any means. If it’s not done, then the whole thrust will get a bad name. I would suggest starting or experimenting with a small promise to our community and then going for big ones.
• Everyone needs money, irrespective of how much we have. It needs lot of efforts to find the right people who really need the help.
• We have to be also aware of the legal problems we may face if we are in trouble. Assume, if we are giving any medical related help to someone and suppose if the patient dies, then the whole trust may be in trouble and may have to face legal issues. Plan ahead of the problems that may be encountered.

I would be Glad to give more information if needed. – Thanks Chandrashekar Mani, Phoenix, USA (Billicombai Village).

Dear All.

I am glad at the responses recieved till date. I have formulated the points to be added in the trust deed, but it is nearly 6 pages long in msdoc format. I would request all of you, who want to go through it to give me their email ids so that i could mail to you and then get the feedback before the trust gets registered.

Regards

Senthil

Dear All,

Please click on the following link to get a specimen of the trust deed.
http://mihd.net/813e2q

Please go through the same and get back to me regarding any suggestions at nandisenthil@gmail.com.

Please suggest the names of the trustees and the managing trustee for the trust. All the trustees have to be physically present at the time of registration of the trust

The cost for registration with an initial corpus fund of 1 lakh will be approximately Rupees Eight thousand. Rupees six thousand is the stamp paper value and the remaining is the auditor fees and other miscillaneous expenses and this can be kept to the minimum.

Please act soon and shall we keep this month end as the deadline for the feedback and responses and then start the registration process in Jan first week so that we can be up kicking by Jan 15th.

Regards

R.Senthil Kumar.
