I was asked by Praveen [in a email to me] how do you say in Badaga, ‘ wish you a happy birthday and you look beautiful

That made me think.

Normally, birthday is referred to as ‘ Huttidha Barasha ’ though, strictly, ‘barasha’ means ‘year’.

So, can we say, ‘ Ninna huttidha barasha ollengay hadali [irali] ‘ or ‘ Ninna huttidha barasha dho siri thumbili ‘ ?

You look beautiful ’ could be ‘ Nee Ollengay iddhay‘, ‘Nee appara pasandhu [singara]

Any better way of saying them?

We can say " Ottitha jenadhoge Ondhu Ombatthu aagali"

Or

" Ottitha Jenathoge nooru Thumbu"
