I wonder how this topic got lost amidst all the fun n frolic messages that are posted (same message more than once). Getting to know each other is a very nice thing. we dont need a chat room. we can still break the ice by introducing ourselves here. This could be a friendly move and as Rajunandha says we cud get to know about different culture from across the world. Even those who are in India are in different parts of the country and not that all of us know every culture in our own country especially since its so diverse.

would be glad to bring this topic back to life....
So here i go...
I am Kausalya, working with TCS BPO in Bangalore. I have been brought up here and did all my studies here. Have done my BA in communication. literature and psychology. My dad has taken VRS from ITI and mom is a homemaker. have one elder sister who is married and settled in UK.
Though there are a lot of complaints regarding the city... i should say one things that a majority of people who come here feel comfortable coz this is most likely the only place in India where which tryly shows the diversity of the country.
I wudnt agree with the city not being helpful... coz the people here are approachable and there a lot of NGOs here and thay dont function without people and their support. May be a ur experiences would have left a different impression. But lets not judge.

And now who's next in the row to break the ice?

regards
Kausalya icon_smile.gif

Good to c one more giving an intro....good Kausalya.....Welcome....

Do u think the people here in Blore r really helpful??????? icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

There are some good aspects but still there lot of drawbacks(uncountable)...

People in Karnataka feel that people form other states have grabbed their opportunities....

So I advise Nandhu not to settle down in Bangalore icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif
The best place is the QUEEN OF HILLS icon_wink.gif

Kausalya.... I think u have almost decided to settle down in Bangalore anyways happy staying icon_smile.gif icon_smile.gif

Not that I have almost decided to live here but I have been living here all my life.....
Bangalore is not a place belonging to a particular community...
It is more universal.
But when it comes down to settling... it depends on what u expect or rather how u expect ur lif to be...
Given a choice... if thr are no obligations then most of us surely want to settle down in some calm place where we can be close to nature.
That apart...
I expect more people to introduce themselves...

hai everybody, i'm Anitha. i'm married and have two kids. My husband Gokul is in the I.F.S. of the Karnataka cadre. we are right now posted in Badravathi, Shimoga dist. Gokul is the GM(HRD&A) and CVO of The Mysore Paper Mills Ltd.This is actually an IAS post and has nothing to do with forests. there are around 6000 people working here.Badravathi is a very small town. We have to shop in Shimoga for our provisions. The Govt of Karnataka concentrate only in Bangalore. the other districts are very backward. you cannot live anywhere else in Karnataka after living in Bangalore.i think people living in Bangalore should be happy staying there as you have better facilities and the standard of living is comparable with other international cities.anyway it is nice getting to know about our people through this forum.

I do agree with Nandu... B'lore is not an ideal place to live... I agree its fast paced and is active but its even more than equally corrupted and polluted... This place is jst to find ur living, but to settle its always my sweet lil town "OOTY".... The fragrance of the soil found in Ooty cannot be compared with the polluted air of B'lore...

I'm not against anybody, that was jst my opinion...!!! icon_smile.gif

I dont think Ooty is that polluted compared to blore the ratio will be 1:10, but life in hatty is really cool and peaceful.Probably we can earn as much as we can and settle down in hatties. No idea about others but until I earn I need to live in Blore icon_cry.gif icon_cry.gif icon_cry.gif no other option

Welcome to the new introducers. Yes. Anitha, I believe Shimoga is famous for the third largest water falls in India. Am I right...? I have also visited Kuvempu University in Shimoga District. It's a slow life compared to B'lore.

Vivek ! as a software engineer, what is the future of software industry..? Will there be any saturation or will be a paramount always... icon_confused.gif

Great to c people on this forum after a very long time.

Nandhu...Thank u for bringing in the forum on track.....

Regarding the S/W industry, upto my knowledge

It will be on paramount for another 7-8 yrs atleast. Most of the Indain companies take over support and maintanence projects in which the contract will be over a period of 3-5 yrs....SO as of now ther will not be a down fall in S/W... , my company has a project stock for more than 3 yrs...So I'm safe till then.... icon_biggrin.gif

Hope this forum will kick off from now.... icon_smile.gif
