Hi Ravi,

It is very kind of you to say such words. I feel humbled.

If my efforts can make even a small number of younsters to feel 'Proud to be a Badaga, Proud to be an Indian' and be aware of our culture and traditions, then I would have achieved my aim to make the world know more about Badagas.

BUT, THAT IS POSSIBLE ONLY WITH THE LARGER PARTIPATION OF ALL !

Thank you once again Ravi Balraj

In this Connection, I am very proud to inform one and all that my daughter, AARTHI BELLIE, had successfully completed her CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT course.
She completed it along with her B Com course simultaneuosly.
She also bagged the GOLD MEDAL for her B Com course.
I already posted this matter in detail in the Forum Topic 'ACHIEVERS IN BADAGA COMMUNITY'.
I hope she is the FIRST LADY to complete Chartered Accountant Course in First Attempt, along with Gold Medalian B Com.
She married to RAJESH KANNAN of Sholur, S/o Sri. Sirangi, Thashildar(Retd).
Aarthi is the Grand daughter of Ex M P of Nilgiris, Late Sri M K NANJA GOWDERM, Achanakal.

With Regards.

Nice to hear from friends.

PLEASE GIVE INTIMATION ABOUT ONLY "FIRST" BADAGA.

We will have a separate post about "ACHIEVERS" as there are quite a few of them, though they may not be the first

Hello Bellie,

Proud about Aarthi. Is she the first C.A and gold medalist? However her name has been included. I am aware of many gold medalists but they are not the 'FIRST'.

Hello EBHARI,

I have heard about Mr.Madhalli - industrialist. But is he a first ?
May be the first one to start a mill, theatre etc? Is he not from Koderi? His date of birth, married to etc please

Well, Im not sure if Maadhaali is the first, for that matter I have my own doubts about the rest of others as well, with due respect for their merits. Some of the firsts are literally unknown, unsung, remotely known only by word of mouth. How much of the firsts are documented, is a question of critical acclaim. The rest is speculation.

But, given the understanding that he started off as a school drop out, built a business from scratch, the first Badaga to ply private buses in the Nilgiri and Coimbatore districts ( it was called EMS, buses used to ply in the OOTY-CBE sector till they were banned by the DMK regime in 1970's), I think he deserves a place as THE FIRST ACCEPTED BUSINESSMAN of Modern Badaga era.

Even today, in Mercunad Seeme, his tea factories are benchmarks in setting up the tea rates by the respective INDCO (Co-operative) tea factories.

He was originally from MANIHATTY settled in Koderi.
