NAAN

Ingredients:[/b]

3 cups Maida
1cup curd
cup milk
tsp dry yeast
tsp sugar (optional)
Baking powder- a pinch
Salt a pinch

Preparation:

Take the flour in a bowl.
Warm the curd and baking powder in low flame for a second and mix it with the flour.
Heat cup milk with the yeast, till the yeast gets fully dissolved in the milk. Pour the mixture into the flour and mix well.
Add the salt and sugar to the mix.
Now knead the dough till it becomes soft and rollable. A little amount of water can be used for kneading.
Leave the dough for 1 hour closed air tight so that it becomes very soft.

After one hour, take a handful of the dough and roll it. Roll like you do for chapatti but this should be in cone shape and also a little thicker than chapatti.

Side by side heat the chapatti tawa or the tawa which has holes in it.
Keep aside the remaining milk in a bowl to sprinkle it on the Naan.
Take the rolled dough, put it in the heated tawa, and sprinkle a tsp of milk over it. See that the Naan sticks to the tawa properly. If not just press the sides of the Naan with the milk over it. After the bottom of the naan is heated well, turn the tawa upside down and cook the naan, showing the Naan directly to the flame. The Naan will fall of when it gets cooked well.

Repeat the same procedure for all the other naans.
It goes well with Paneer Mutter Masala and also Aloo Mutter Masala.
Taste it, you will surely like it.

With best wishes
Beena
