That is illegal!!! The purpose of using streaming media is for the user not to be able to download the songs onto the PC...But doing so is, like you said bjp, unethical...
I would not say this for tamil, english or other songs because they flourish very well...But thats not the case of Badaga songs...If we ourselves don't support our people who else will? |

Here is a "perfectly" LEGAL solution to the problem but to what extent it is 'ethical' is left to your discretion......

There you are....enjoy Badaga Songs at your leisure !!

This would be
illegal
, in our opinion. Promoting, aiding or indulging in such activities may reduce the chances that this website will be able to provide more songs in the future. We may also consider providing only portions of the songs to protect copyright owners' rights, and to ensure this web site does not come under legal action.
It is our humble request to please
support our fellow Badagas
, who have spent their time and money to create these songs for our enjoyment, by buying the legal versions of these songs on the original Cassettes or CD's available in many shops in the Nilgiris.
The following is our statement on the Songs page for those who may be unaware of the terms of our service:
"
The songs presented on our website are a sample of Badaga music fully copyrighted by their owners. We present these songs in streaming format for your listening enjoyment. If you enjoy these songs and wish to own them please purchase them on original Cassette and CD and support the copyright owners.

I completely agree with the
Site Administrator
and
shaolinstorm
.
bjaypee
, with due respect to your opinions, when
halanmoorthy
is trying to buy a CD why would you suggest something that is clearly robbing the creators of this wonderful music their fair dues?
Site Administrator
, isn't this
piracy technique
a violation of this forum's rules?

Way back in 2005 when I wrote about 'how to download streaming songs' from badaga.org - basically meant for those who were not getting the CDs [ due to their location etc] there was considerable opposition from self styled champions. I withdrew my post.
But if you want to DOWNLOAD & ENJOY some nice Badaga music mainly
by PRIYARAGAVA , go
here
Is it legal? Ethical? I leave it to the "CHAMPIONS" to debate
.

members, Kindly see both side of the coin.
It may be depriving Selling CDs and making a decent income by the creators. But PL loook into some of the members who live abroad and longing to hear memorable bada songs.
Those in abroad may not find it painful to shell out Couple of Dollars or other currencies equal to Rs 100 - 150 to buy a CD, but finding one is difficult being abroad.
On the other hand, Listening to badaga Songs from Badaga.org, needs continulous log in into website, which may not be practical.
A download per song/CD by reasonable amount administered by the web organiser seems to be wiser.
Just a thought ! |
